Let’s go Fishing!

This cake posed some challenges for me, but I like how it turned out.

First, I had to figure out how to make a fishing pole,  then I couldn’t get the picture of the creel to open very big… but I think I got it.

Everything on this cake is edible.  The basket is white cake with buttercream icing and fondant accents.  The pole is gumpaste with a gumpaste real.  The reeds, weeds, and grass are all gumpaste, the wood slat is fondant and the fish is modeling chocolate.  Oh, and the lures are gumpaste as well.
