Merry Christmas!

I can’t believe it is Christmas time again. Every year it sneaks up on me! This year a friend of mine was asked to audition for TLC’s Ultimate Cake Off. She asked me to be on her team. For practice, it was decided that we should build a 5 foot tall Christmas tree cake with edible ornaments, edible toys and a edible moving train! We built the cake LIVE at the Salt Lake City Festival of Trees, and they auctioned it off with proceeds to benefit Primary Children’s Medical Center.
It was an amazing experience to be a part of something like this. The cake was over 7 feet tall with the stand, and we had to stand on stools to reach the top for decorating! I wouldn’t trade it for the world, and hopefully, we are all geared up to compete on TLC!

This just in:  This cake was featured on cakewrecks.blogspot.com on Sunday Sweets for Sunday 12/27.  Normally, it is a bad thing to be on cake wrecks, but Sunday is the day we all pine for.  Thanks for posting our cake, Jen! It made it worth all the hard work!

I totally recommend cake wrecks for a hilarious, tear streaking, snorting good time.  Jen and her husband Jon are worth the several hours that you will be sucked in for.  Check it out: cakewrecks.blogspot.com
